GENERAL INFORMATION
The Lancaster County Longrifles Rendezvous recreates the culture and technology of the pre 1840 Fur Trade Era. All clothing, accoutrements and camp gear must reflect this historic period. Absolutely NO flammable liquids such as kerosene, charcoal lighters, "Coleman" fuel, etc. will be permitted in primitive camp or Sutler area. (Use of propane will be permitted for food vendors only.)
EVENTS: Separate matches at 25 & 50 yards for rifle, pistol & smoothbore. First entry in all events is included in registration fee (except 50/50 matches). Re-entries will be charged per target. We have Primitive archery, hawk walk, hawk & knife, and a woods walk competitions. All competitors must have a medallion to enter any of the events. **NMLRA rules apply** Men, women and juniors (ages 12 - 16) may compete. We also have children's events and seminars. Prizes for all events will be awarded at the closing ceremony.
ABSOLUTELY NO SWIMMING OR BATHING IN THE LAKE. Our current insurance regulations do not allow recreational boating. Only canoes transporting participants across the lake to and from shooting events are permitted. Pleasure canoeing is permissible when the owner and anyone who wishes to accompany the owner signs a release waiver. No Exceptions. You are completely liable and resume responsibility concerning safe operation of the canoe.
HIGHLAND GAMES: Gentlemen participants must wear a kilt, ladies must be sponsored.
PRE-REGISTRATION FEES: Pre-registration - $20.00 for adults 17 and over, $15.00 for juniors 12 - 16 years old, children under 12 are free.
GATE FEES: $25.00 for adults 17 and over, $17.50 for juniors 12 - 16 years old, children under 12 free. (These are subject to change)
DAY SHOOTERS: $20.00 fee for adults, $12.00 fee for juniors. This fee includes medallion and single entry to all events except 50/50 matches. Re-entries are charged per target. Range hours are 9am until 4pm.
CAMPING: We have a large primitive camping area.. Wood, water and ice will be available. A small Modern camping area is available; no hook-ups. There is a modern camping park with hook-ups on the opposite side of the lake. For reservations call (717) 284-5850
If you wish to fish in the lake all persons over the age of 16 must have a PA fishing license. You may purchase one at Musser's Store, located just off Rt. 272.
Early set up for pre-registered Sutlers - after 9:00am Monday, April 27th.
Early set-up for all participants will be on Tuesday, April 28th from 8am until 8pm. Rendezvous rules take effect 8am Wednesday, . You MUST be in period clothing by this time!. All vehicles MUST be out of camp by dark Tuesday,
GATE HOURS: The gate will be open Wednesday through Friday from 8am until 7pm & Saturday from 8am until 12 noon for registrations. The gate will be closed at 10pm each night. Please plan to arrive between these times so as to be considerate of our volunteers. A maximum of one hour will be permitted to unload and load vehicles. All vehicles MUST be out of camp by 8pm. Camp will close at 12noon on Sunday. Camps must be torn down (except canvas) BEFORE bringing vehicles into camp for loading to leave the event. If you leave before noon on Sunday, you must remain in period dress while tearing down camp. ***ABSOLUTELY NO ONE WILL BE PERMITTED TO PARK IN THE CUL-DE-SAC OR ON BETHESDA CHURCH ROAD.***
FIRES: Must be contained in a pit and must be attended at all times. A minimum of two gallons of water in an open container must be kept within five feet of the fire pit, specifically for fire control. Absolutely NO flammable liquids such as kerosene, charcoal lighters, "Coleman" fuel, etc. will be permitted in primitive camp or Sutler area. (Use of propane will be permitted for food vendors only.) All food vendors are required to have a fire extinguisher.
BLANKET TRADERS: Only registered participants may offer goods for sale. No trade blankets in the Sutler area.
AWARDS CEREMONY: Will be held Saturday evening, However, rendezvous rules are in effect until 12 noon on Sunday.
NOTE: NEITHER THE RENDEZVOUS CAFE' NOR THE CAMP STORE WILL BE OPEN THIS YEAR.
PUBLIC DAY: Saturday, from 10am until 5pm. A fee will be charged to enter on that day.
